Small Islands at Hvar, Croatia
Small Islands at Hvar, Croatia

Gloriously relaxing and evocative of a more civilised era of travel, there are few better ways to discover the ancient treasures of the Mediterranean than aboard a small ship cruise vessel, motor sailor or motor yacht. The four vessels carefully selected by us here at Andante each present a yacht cruise experience, but have between 18-24 cabins and boast the ability to berth in more characterful ports of call than the mega ships can. MS Adriatic Queen and MS Equator – both exclusive to Andante Travels – explore the richly historic and splendidly scenic Dalmatian Coast and islands. The MS Galileo circumnavigates the Peloponnese from Athens, making stops at iconic sites such as Olympia and Delphi and the MY Harmony V travels via the Mediterranean, the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, on an odyssey that encompasses outstanding sites.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Our Dalmatian Coast cruises include a world-class Andante guide lecturer, but the Greek cruise is guided by an excellent on-board archaeology specialist, and the Egypt Cruise is accompanied by an on-board Egyptologist so, as such, we would describe these as a gentler introductions to these millennia-old wonders.

What to expect

M/S Adriatic Queen

MS Adriatic Queen

Constructed in 2017, the MS Adriatic Queen is 115.5 feet long and 36 feet wide. With 15 cabins, all located on the main deck, it has the capacity for 31 passengers and can reach up to 10 knots in speed. The ship is exclusive to Andante Travels on its round-trip sailing from Split and features comfortable twin and double air-conditioned cabins with private bathrooms and LCD TVs, a sun deck featuring sunbeds and a jacuzzi, and the salon restaurant and bar. WiFi is free on board.

M/S Equator

MS Equator

Built in 2017, this new vessel is one of the finest flagships of the ATLAS fleet, and we would characterise the quality as equivalent to a good 4* hotel. With just 18 cabins across two accommodation decks (main and lower), the MS Equator is exclusive to Andante Travels on its 16th October 2021 sailing from Dubrovnik to Split. Elegantly furnished cabins are all outside-facing, with portholes on the lower deck and windows on the main deck, and all are equipped with private bathrooms, air-conditioning and flat-screen TVs and standard. The salon restaurant serves up delicious buffet breakfasts, four-course lunches and two dinners (a welcome dinner and a Captain’s Dinner). The sun deck boasts sunbeds as well as a jacuzzi, and WiFi is free on board.

M/S Galileo

MS Galileo

With its classic lines and wood-panelling evoking a bygone era of travel by sea, the MS Galileo is a fully motorised yacht, but one that unfurls its majestic sails at least once every voyage. We would characterise the quality as equivalent to a good 3* hotel. 24 cabins are situated across two decks (upper and lower), each featuring porthole windows (larger on the upper deck), flat-screen TVs, individually controlled air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms with showers, hairdryers, mini-fridges, and mini-safes. The 2021 cruises are full board, with all meals served in the comfortable restaurant, to which is adjoined to a bar area and small library with games store. Weather permitting, lectures given by our on-board expert may be delivered on the impressive sun deck. MS Galileo was renovated in 2016. WiFi is available at an extra cost.

MS Harmony V

MY Harmony V

The MY Harmony V is a modern and elegant yacht and is 55 metres in length. Its sleek high-tech look is very similar to the private yachts that can be found in the famous ports of the world. The 25 cabins of the MY Harmony V are located on the Upper Deck (16 cabins) and the Main Deck (9 cabins). They are upscale, intimate and decorated with soft colour furnishing. The cabins are equipped with twin or double beds, and have large windows. All cabins offer en-suite bathrooms with shower, flat-screen TVs, CD/DVD players, mini fridges, hairdryers, individually controlled A/C and safety deposit boxes. The 2021 and 2022 cruises are full board and feature an on board Egyptologist.
