Dr Paul Tubb

A landscape archaeologist and Mountain Leader, Paul has been studying the prehistory of southern Britain for the past 40 years.

Originally from the Dorset/Hampshire border, the legacy of Pitt-Rivers, Heywood Sumner, and Maud Cunnington shaped Paul’s work in Wessex and beyond. He also spent a considerable amount of his youth fossil-hunting in Lyme Bay. He is currently researching prehistoric mortuary practice in the Cambrian Mountains; his other fields of interest include the archaeology of woodland and the Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age transition of southern Britain. When he’s not meandering in British woods and uplands with his sprocker spaniel Milo, he leads backpacking expeditions to the Great Ranges of the world or can be found fly-fishing the rivers of Wales.
